Taweelah Aluminum Extrusion Company LLC (TALEX) was established as a joint venture between SENAAT and the Al Ghurair Group’s Gulf Extrusions (an Al Ghurair Company) with a vision to supply high quality extrusions across various industries and geographies. After having accomplished its goal of developing a state-of-the-art plant in the region, the shareholders have unanimously agreed to let Gulf Extrusions take the plant forward into the future. As a result, the plant will henceforward be owned and operated solely by Gulf Extrusions.
The Al Ghurair family express their gratitude towards SENAAT for being a valuable partner in this venture and creating future possibilities in downstream aluminum. Integrating TALEX with Gulf Extrusions will secure the successful future of the plant. In a combined set up, the aluminum industry as a whole will significantly benefit from the well-known technical capabilities of Gulf Extrusions and the state-of-the-art equipment of Talex.
In the merged setup, the entire organization will become an even stronger service partner for the local architectural and construction industry, but also international customers will profit from a stronger Gulf Extrusions organization. Particular the automotive customers appreciate the two-plant setup with redundant production capabilities.
The TALEX plant is the result of an investment to strengthen the Middle East’s downstream capabilities to spur industrial growth and broaden the Emirate’s economic base.
Spreading over almost 200,000 square meters, TALEX has an installed production capacity of 25,000 tons per annum of aluminum. Additional downstream capabilities are powder coating, anodizing, fabricating. It is the region’s most highly automated aluminum extrusion plant and the first aluminum extrusion project to be established in Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (KIZAD).
TALEX’s vertically integrated production process links liquid primary metal, transferred through Hot Metal Road, to state-of-the-art precision engineering and on to export markets in the Gulf and around the world, via KIZAD’s Khalifa Port.
