Senaat’s high calibre Board members combine outstanding expertise in private enterprise with excellent relationships at the highest levels of the Government of Abu Dhabi. The Board of Directors, which is appointed by and directly reports to Abu Dhabi’s Executive Council, provides long-term strategic direction ensuring that Senaat continues to be in line with Abu Dhabi’s Economic Vision 2030.
H.E. Hussain J. Al Nowais has over 25 years of combined experience in business management, banking, project finance, investment, as well as hospitality and real estate. In addition, he has a proven track-record in the development of industrial, infrastructure, and energy projects. Al Nowais has been actively involved in setting up new businesses and in the acquisition of existing companies, primarily in the Gulf States and the broader Middle East.
H.E. Hussain Al Nowais is presently Chairman of several public companies and institutions, such as The General Holding Corporation (Senaat), National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC), Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development, Waha Capital and Emirates Steel. He is also a board member of Sheikh Khalifa University for Science & Technology.
A UAE national, born in Abu Dhabi, Al Nowais holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with an emphasis on Finance from Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon, USA. He has since attended various Executive Management courses at INSEAD in France and London Business School in the UK.
H.E. Saif Mohamed Al Hajeri holds a number of leadership roles for Abu Dhabi initiatives. As well as being on the Board of Senaat, Al Hajeri is a board member of the Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development, Al Yah Satellite Communications, Waha Capital, Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company, Abu Dhabi Tourism Development and Investment Company and Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority.
H.E. Al Hajeri is the Chief Executive Officer of Tawazun Holding and the UAE Offset Program Bureau, now named the Tawazun Economic Council, aimed at diversifying the UAE’s economy and creating new ventures by partnering with international defense contractors. He plays a leadership role on the board of directors of most of Tawazun’s subsidiaries including Caracal International and Burkan Munitions.
H.E. Al Hajeri holds a BA in Business and Economics from Lewis & Clark College, Portland, USA.
H.E. Ali Murshed Al Marar joined the Board of Directors of Senaat in 2017. In addition to his board position, he is the Senior Vice President of Administration at Al Hosn Gas. He was a member of the establishment team of Abu Dhabi Gas Development Ltd, “A Limited Liability Company” (Al Hosn Gas), a JV between ADNOC and Oxy, to develop and operate the Arab A, B, C and D sour gas reservoirs. Previously, H.E. Al Marar helped found Borouge, an Abu Dhabi-based leading provider of innovative, value creating plastic solutions. During his time at Borouge, H.E. Al Marar served as the company’s Chief Financial Officer, overseeing the group’s financials and playing an instrumental role in securing financing for the Borouge expansions’.
He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company.
Educated in the UAE, H.E. Al Marar graduated with a BA in Accounting from the United Arab Emirates University.
H.E. Alyazia Ali Al Kuwaiti joined the Board of Directors of Senaat in 2017. She brings a wealth of leadership and project management experience as a Board Member of Senaat. In her role as Director of Midstream and Upstream Investment at the International Petroleum Investment Company (IPIC), Al Kuwaiti has played a leading role in implementing the UAE’s women empowerment strategic initiatives based on the goals set out in the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030. She was recognized for her efforts in 2013, winning the Emirates Women Award (EWA) in the Career Achievements category.
H.E. Al Kuwaiti is a Board Member of a number of organizations across the UAE. These include the Gulf Energy Maritime, Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development, Securities and Commodities Authority and the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development.
Moreover, she holds a Masters in International Business from the University of Wollongong, Dubai and a BA in Accounting and Finance from the Portobello College, Dublin.
H.E. Al-Dhaheri joined the Board of Directors of Senaat in 2017. He brings extensive experience in the fields of finance and international investment. A Certified Public Accountant, H.E. Al-Dhaheri currently serves as a Deputy Director at Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, which he joined in 1993.
In addition to sitting on Senaat’s Board of Directors, H.E. Al-Dhaheri is also a Member of the Board of Directors and Member of the Audit Committees of several public and private companies in the UAE, including TAQA, Agthia, Al Hilal Bank, Etisalat, and others.
H.E. Al-Dhaheri holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Metropolitan State College in Denver. He is a member of the Illinois CPA Society, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Institute of Leadership and Management in the United Kingdom.
